Terms of use
The agreement, in plain language
A mutual link exchange run by one person and still in its early days. These terms describe what the service really does, not what a boilerplate says services might do.

1. The service
Swap Backlinks pairs site owners who want to link to each other, one link each way, and checks that the links appear. Use it through an MCP agent, the API or the website. Identities stay hidden until both sides accept.
Using it (signing in, creating a key, listing a site) means you accept these terms. If you do not, do not use it.
2. Accounts
Sign in by emailed link, GitHub or Google. You answer for everything done through your account and key, so keep both private. You must be able to enter a binding contract where you live, and have authority if you act for a business.
Keep to one account per person. Multiple accounts to dodge limits or swap with yourself are not allowed.
3. Sites you list
List only sites you own or may edit, and describe them accurately. A domain can sit with one account at a time. The Free plan allows 2 sites, Pro up to 10.
We load your homepage to draft the listing and confirm the site is genuine (ground rule §01) and fetch its Domain Rating to compare you fairly with partners.
4. Sites we turn away
We decline or pause anything that is not a working site with real content and a real owner, including:
- parked, for-sale, empty or “coming soon” domains;
- private blog networks, rebuilt expired domains and link farms;
- sites with illegal content, malware, phishing or exploitative material;
- attempts to swap links on sites you do not control.
Accounts that break the terms or abuse the service may be removed, with an explanation where we can give one.
5. How swaps work
Every swap is one link each way (ground rule §03). Accepting a pairing is a promise to place the agreed link on your own site in good faith. No credits, points or paid queues exist, and nobody gets a link without giving one.
Pairing uses your category and DR range, looking one neighbouring category out only if too few sites qualify, and noting it (ground rule §02). You may decline any pairing for any reason. Acceptance cannot be undone: both sides then see the other's URL and email.
You choose where the link goes and its rel (ground rule §04). We record placement and rel and show both sides, but never reject or referee a placement.
6. Checks on your links
When you report a link we fetch the page, find it, and record where it sits and how it is marked, then recheck after 7 days, after 30 days and monthly. You authorise our crawler (swap-backlinks-bot) to fetch pages you submit for this.
A vanished link is marked missing and both sides are told. Removing a link after agreeing to a swap may end your pairings. See the privacy notice.
7. Pro plan
The exchange is free. Pro is an optional subscription: more sites, priority among comparable candidates, and DR and placement filters in search. It never buys a guaranteed pairing, link or ranking.
Billed monthly or yearly through Stripe and renewed automatically until cancelled in the billing portal. Cancelling stops renewal; Pro runs to the end of the paid period, then the account returns to Free. Existing sites stay but no more can be added past the Free limit. Payments are not refunded, as set out in the refund policy, unless the law requires it.
8. No guarantees
The service is provided as is and is still early. No promise is made about rankings, traffic, Domain Rating, availability of a partner, or error-free operation. Domain Rating comes from a third party and may be wrong or missing.
Search engines have their own link rules and a reciprocal link is your decision and risk. To the extent the law permits, we are not liable for lost traffic, rankings, revenue or indirect loss, and our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the last twelve months, which is zero on Free.
9. Keys and agents
Your API key lets an agent act as you. It is shown once and only its hash is kept, so we cannot recover it. If it leaks, replace it in the dashboard; the old one stops immediately. You answer for everything done with it until then.
Driving the service from an agent is intended. You remain responsible for what it does, including links added to your repository and pairings accepted, so review before you deploy. Scraping, flooding the API, bypassing limits or probing other members is forbidden, and may be throttled or blocked.
10. Leaving
Stop any time: delete your account yourself on the Account page, or email us (the privacy notice explains the limits). We may suspend or end access if you breach these terms or endanger the service or members.
Links on other people's sites are theirs; links on yours are yours to keep or remove. We ask you to honour agreed swaps and enforce that only by informing the other side and, if needed, ceasing to pair you.
11. Changes and contact
When the terms change, the date above changes and members are emailed about material changes. Continued use means acceptance.
